What the heck is Busy Man Fitness?
Basically, Busy Man Fitness is YOUR secret weapon to achieving and keeping that enviable physique that gives you the edge in anything you do. It is the physical outlet that keeps you confident and healthy in a world of constant stress.
Today's man is over-worked and underpaid in most cases. His only advantage comes from a healthy mentality and physical program that constantly motivates him internally.
At FitBusinessman.com, we constantly pride ourselves on providing an atmosphere for the busy man to grow and invest in himself. We know that it takes consistent study in the areas of fitness and finance to stay healthy in both areas.
Why blend fitness with finance? Simply put, the man who is well educated in both areas places himself in a different bracket of wisdom. He is able to constantly outperform the average man because he has a deep understanding of TRUE WEALTH.
Health is emphasized as the foundation of wealth because it serves as the catalyst in allowing a motivated individual to work with fervor and efficiency toward their goals.
In this article I will attempt to take you through an understanding of the importance of staying fit as a busy professional. As I write this in January of 2009 we face a horrible financial landscape with unemployment rates soaring to increasing levels every week.
1. health is the ultimate form of wealth
Many readers will disagree with this statement, especially if you are currently in a position of seemingly perfect health. However, have you seen what the health concerns of Steve Jobs have recently done to Apples stock price?
Health is often overshadowed until it disappears. We all continue our normal daily routines without thinking of our health as an asset, but make no mistake, health is our biggest asset.
Also, we fail to realize how investing in our health can deliver a measurable return in the short-term because most of the results from maintaining a sound diet and a healthy physique are long-term investments. Few people want to believe that such a slow-building asset can be so important.
If you are an executive or professional, your fitness level becomes more important as your position in the world of economics continues to rise. With each rise in the tax bracket, your health will become more of an advantage because more people will depend on your expertise.
If you are an entrepreneur, you will most likely have to oversee many levels of your business and one day of lackluster performance can permeate through your entire business. Simply put, you can't afford to take sick days or have a day without abundant energy!
Therefore, now that you have a reason to consider the importance of your overall health, you will begin to see how physical health can set the stage for financial prowess. Our next step will be to formulate a blueprint for your daily routine that can aid your health and physique.
Why your physique? Can't you just start eating healthy things and reap the benefits of health in your life? NO. Actually, I am a big fan of the fact that functionality will show in your form. It may not happen fast, but if you are on the right program for health, it will show in your physique.
It's important for every man to have a precise blueprint for attaining a physique he can take pride in. When you see the results in the mirror, you will have more motivation to continue toward multiple life goals. The gain in self confidence you receive from changing your physique is something that has immeasurable compounding value.
2. the blueprint for busy men
You can't just follow any ordinary plan to attain your physique goals. You're a busy man with less time to dedicate to his fitness goals than most people. Therefore, you need a highly efficient game plan to be successful with this endeavor.
We need to approach your physique goal as a very important investment. Below I have detailed the basic blueprint you should follow to get yourself into a daily routine that will change your physique quickly and efficiently:
I will cover each of these steps in depth in another article, but for now I wanted to give you an example of the steps involved in getting your fitness goals in motion.
Perhaps the most important aspect of any goal is JUST TAKING ACTION. Sitting around and thinking about this process is not going to give you a six pack. We need action...starting today.
Like I said earlier, if you are like me your schedule is very tight. It's rare that you have even a single hour open during your work week. For this reason, forget about working out for an hour. Let's start with a 15 minute, consistent workout 4-5 days per week.
Now, I don't care how busy you are, I am willing to bet you have 15 minutes in any given day to devote to building your physique. If you don't...chances are highly likely that you are lying to yourself.
Still think you don't have enough time to workout? You and I both know that YOU DO have at least 15 minutes per day to dedicate toward building the physique that will change your life on just about any given day.
We just needed to get passed the lie of the 1-Hour workout. I say it's a lie because it's just very hard for the average working man to give one hour of his time away most days. As a result, most men have been conned into thinking that they can use the lack of time as an excuse to become fat and sluggish.
Not anymore! You have a blueprint and you have 15 minutes. Now it's time to get started on your way with busy man fitness.
3. small, consistent efforts
If you look back in history, some of the greatest stories of the world have their roots in small consistent efforts. Also, if you turn to nature for examples, you will find more of the same.
I firmly believe that small, consistent efforts toward your physique goals will deliver the best results. For this reason I believe that workouts should be kept short and concise, while frequency should be kept very high. However, this isn't only my belief, it's what I have observed through training thousands of clients as having the highest rates of success.
How long should your workouts be? Try 15-30 minutes. Get in the gym, get your workout in and be gone. Don't use your gym time as a social networking opportunity. Wear a mean, determined face and be the model of efficiency.
How frequent should your workouts be? Shoot for 4-6 days per week. I am not going to feed you a load of bullshit and tell you that 3 days per week is enough. Fact is, 3 workouts per week will rarely get you results fast enough to keep you motivated.
You NEED to stay motivated on your plan. And this is the reason why 4-6 workouts per week will get you there. Such a high frequency of workouts will ensure that you get quick results. You will basically be forcing your body to get used to staying active on a very consistent basis.
The key...work your plan. Use the blueprint to keep you focused and just continually take steps to the physique goals highest on your list of priorties.
