10 Keys To Success With A Workout

It's time to supercharge your workouts! I have been itching for a while to write about the 10 main reasons I feel people succeed with their workout regimen. I can usually tell in my initial "sit-down" with a prospective client how successful they will be in attaining their goals. The following article is dedicated to all the members on this site. Read through and pay attention to the details I give.

Here are the top 10 reasons for success in a workout program:

1. The individual has a defined and specific goal with a deadline - The biggest success stories from my clients are from individuals who had a special event in the not-too-distant future. These individuals were serious, motivated, and money was of no consequence to them. These individuals were willing to give up their favorite foods for six months and put me in total control of their diet and exercise program. They were not concerned with anything but their own success when they stepped into the gym.

2. The individual did not make excuses - One thing I cannot stand as a trainer is an excuse. I do not allow my clients or workout partners to use negative words (i.e.: can't, won't, shouldn't, couldn't, wouldn't) during our workouts. An excuse is an invitation for failure. An excuse is an acceptance of mediocrity. I do not allow excuses and neither should you.

3. The individual had a positive mental attitude - The general attitude of my successful clients is one of optimism. Many of my clients would be in the gym no matter how much "negative" influence they had in their life at the time. These individuals saw the best results.

4. The individual had a competitive nature - Not satisfied with mediocrity, the most successful individuals in the gym had at least a mild sense of competitiveness in their personality.

5. The individual trusted his leader - No matter how good your training program is, unless you believe in it, your results will not be commendable. You must believe in the abilities of the person training you for your program to deliver the results that it is capable of delivering.
